Summer in Abu Dhabi

June 21, 2012 in Uncategorized

Over the past 2 weeks we have been incredibly busy getting some really fun and interesting work together for the guys at HQ Creative. They came to us with 2 stands at the Summer in Abu Dhabi ADNEC Activities event which is taking place from the 21st June – 19th July.

Stand one was a stage for a clown with interactive props including a falling wall where the actor looks like they are going to be crushed but as the wall comes crashing down they slip through an open window and are revealed to be safe. Other props included a comedy door, water squirting plant boxes, wooden crates and sticks of dynamite with a plunger.

The second stand was a giant head which was to look like an ancient civilizations alter for sacrifice. The 9.7M head had a platform at the top which children and adults alike can throw themselves off onto a giant inflatable bag.

This work was particularly entertaining for us as a team because it made use of our art department and industry knowledge which our staff have acquired over years of working in the UK theatre industry. We are incredibly happy with the finish of both these stands and plan on using them as showcase examples of what we can do, and look forward to more interesting work like this.

Barasti Beach Stadium has been a great success through the Euros this month. We here at JR Scenic are incredibly proud of the football stadium finish with its football pitch grass and concrete bandstand paint effects as shown in the images below.

The stadium showed great potential on opening night and every match since interest has grown more and more with people literally queuing out the door to support their teams.

Global Life Communications

We received a lovely gift from the people at Global Life Communications this week for helping them out on a job. We are always happy to lend a hand and really appreciated the chocolates as a thank you.

The card read “Dear John, Thank you so much for jumping into our event at the last minute and with such professionalism. It was a pleasure to work with you and your team.”
Getting feedback like this really makes our day and it is our privilege to have the pleasure of working with such great people.
